Scope and Contents Catherine Gordon Byron (1765-1811) was the mother of the poet, Lord Byron. She and Byron lived in Aberdeen after the abandonment and death of his father, John Byron. They moved to Nottinghamshire after Byron inherited his title and estates from his uncle in 1798.
