Custodial History

The collection formed part of the working papers of John Maule of Inverkeillor (1706-1781), a Baron of the Court of Exchequer in Scotland from 1748 to his death. All the volumes bear the armorial bookplate of `Mr. Baron Maule` and other notes of provenance detailed in the records of individual parts. The collection was bought by the Advocates’ Library in 1782.
