The contents of the manuscript are as follows:

(i) `Roll of the names of the Ministers of the Kirk in Scotland who refused to submit to Prelacy and continued stedfast in owning Presbyterian Government after the Re-establishment of Episcopacy 1661. 1662.` The presbyteries of Auchterarder and Lerwick are omitted. In some cases, mention is made of a minister`s death, execution, or banishment, but this information is not always correct. The list must have been compiled after 1694, as William Eccles, minister of Ayr, is said to be dead. (Folio 1.)

(ii) `Roll of the names of the Episcopal Ministers ... at and since the late revolutione 1689 ...` The latest date given is the death of William Gairns in 1708 (folio 21 verso). Where ministers were deprived or deposed, the dates and reasons for their deprivations are usually given. (Folio 21.)

(iii) List of Presbyterian ministers in charges, ?1712. The presbytery of Edinburgh is omitted. (Folio 69.)

(iv) Table of the synods and presbyteries with the numbers of their representatives at the General Assembly, circa 1712. (Folio 90.)

There are a number of corrections in later hands throughout.
