Scope and Contents

The collection is known both as the `Denmilne State Papers` and the `Denmilne Collection`. Less formally it is often referred to as the `Denmilne Manuscripts`.

Scope and Contents Except one of Archbishop Leighton, the letters are of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Several are addressed to the Mures of Caldwell; others to Archibald Constable.
