Transcripts and extracts made at different times between 1796 and 1818, with a number made about 1824, of documents relating to collegiate churches, abbeys and other religious houses mostly in the west of Scotland, ranging in date from about 1200 to 1632 (most belonging to the 15th and 16th centuries). Most are by Lieutenant-General G H Hutton, some of those made about 1796 and most of those made after 1818 being in other hands., Circa 1200-1632.

The transcripts are of:
(i) the register of the abbey of Arbroath, which was then in the library at Panmure (folio 2);
(ii) copies then in possession of John Dillon of charters, 1238-1246, relating to the abbey (folio 404);
(iii) a charter of confirmation of James III, 1486, of a charter of confirmation by William the Lion, 1213, then (1821) in possession of Sir Thomas Burnet of Leys, Baronet (folio 408).

Transcripts, circa 1778, of charters, 1241-1405, relating to the Order Of Preachers (Blackfriars) at Perth, including translations and historical notes, made by the Reverend James Scott., 1241-1405.
The charters, most of which were copied from a still extant 1548 cartulary, were later transliterated more accurately by Scott in a second volume, Adv.MS.13.1.2, hence the dating in the second volume has been preferred.

The Halkett family appear to have risen partly on the decline of the Lochores of Lochore. By 1431, the former are having transumpts made of charters of the early 13th century granted to the latter (Ch.6018-6019).
