A group of about 2500 plans, chiefly made by Messrs Stevenson. Their business was concerned chiefly with sea-works, lighthouses, harbours, canals and river courses, and the plans reflect this interest, although there are some items relating to railways and bridges.

For the sake of record, one file (‘Caledonia Dreaming’) has been kept in its entirety, though anyone wishing to consult it will have to comply with the terms of the Act and complete relevant paperwork. Potentially sensitive material, such as contracts, have been removed from all other files and shredded.

The first version, which has the title 'There's many a slip', has been typed on the back of part of a typescript of another play, “The Flo'er o' Lowther”.
