Also included are some tunes for the keyboard (folios 38-44 verso). The pieces consist, along with some Scots tunes, of minuets, gavottes, marches, etc., by composers of the day including Thomas Arne, Arcangelo Corelli, William Felton, George Frideric Handel and Johann Adolph Hasse.

Gairdyn manuscript: a collection of songs, marches, minuets, sarabands, country dances, etc., 1710, 1729, 1735, undated.
Of most tunes, only a few bars are given. On folio iv are verses beginning 'Than what shall be done with this traitor in grain' and 'When fierce Renegado cam first to the toun'. A short 'Inventar of household plenishing' appears on folio 42 verso. The dates 1710, 1729, and 1735 occur on folios 40, 40 verso, and 51.

The music book includes traditional material both English and Scottish, the works of Purcell, Pepusch, and Corelli, and those of slightly later composers such as Handel, Vivaldi, and McGibbon.
Robert Kelsall was apparently interested in trumpet music, for the volume contains numerous trumpet minuets, and a transcript of 'Trumpet tune' by Nicola Matteis.

The contents include: An eightsome reel arranged for strings, in full score (folio 1) and other reels; Strathspeys copied from various sources (folio 18); Jigs (folio 22); Minuet (folio 24); Pavane (folio 25), fugue (folio 28), nocturnes and other pieces (folio 32), and various unidentified sketches (folio 59).
