An imperfect treatise on law. The same arrangement followed as George Mackenzie, but it is not a transcript. The first part wanting. Contains: Book 4, Tit. I of actions; Tit. II of probation; Tit. III of sentences and their execution.

Sir George Fletcher, advocate, a younger son of Robert of Innerpeffer, was one of his commissioners and acquired the lands of Restennet in 1627. The first two documents, the earliest in the collection, are the foundation charter of the Priory by Malcolm IV and its confirmation by the Bishop of St Andrews.

He was a keen supporter of the Volunteer Movement in Edinburgh, and founded, in 1852, the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights.

Fragmentary devotional work., 15th century.
The fragment consists of seven gatherings (lacking a leaf after folio 47), and the back cover with a flyleaf (folio 56) and pastedown. As well as the front cover, entire gatherings have been lost before folio 1 and after folio 55. Surviving contents consist of prayers to the Virgin. There are a few decorated initials in red and green, and the rubrics are in red.

MSS.7443-7445 are written in German, having been delivered on George Combe's tour in Germany in 1842.
The phrenological reports (MSS.7452-7455) comprise the phrenological measurements of many persons, both well-known and obscure, with reports and descriptions of their mental capabilities and weaknesses.
The papers of Cecilia Combe contain a selection of literary efforts, diaries of tours, and the usual memoranda and inventories kept by nineteenth-century housewives.
