Scope and Contents As well as records of sporting parties and their `bags`, the Game Book provides detailed daily accounts of game seen and weather conditions. The album includes numerous photographs of shooting parties and daily activities, principally on the Altyre Estate and at Aldourie Castle and Fetteresso. The volume contains a title page (folio 1), photographs of Glenquoich Lodge and its billiard room (folio 2), blank leaves on which are recorded summaries of stags shot, 1841-1863 (folio 4), a printed record of stags shot, 1893-1898 (folio 8), leaves partly printed with details added by hand, 1899-1910 (folio 34) and leaves left blank (folio 45). Printed analyses of stags shot, 1910-1912, have been pasted to folios 45-46.

The flyleaf at the front has been cut out.

Scope and Contents

The volume contains an index of sportsmen taking part in the shoots (folios 89) compiled by Edward Charles Ellice of Invergarry. Ellice was probably responsible for pasting the many drawings by Katherine Jane Ellice and several by Edwin Landseer (including an illustrated letter (folios 26-29)) and other guests (which appear to have been cut out of a sketch-book) on blank leaves cut out from the book and tipped in elsewhere throughout the volume.
