Scope and Contents From the Series:

A group of about 2500 plans, chiefly made by Messrs Stevenson. Their business was concerned chiefly with sea-works, lighthouses, harbours, canals and river courses, and the plans reflect this interest, although there are some items relating to railways and bridges.

Scope and Contents From the Series: The Fletchers were merchants in Dundee, who came to prominence towards the end of the sixteenth century in the person of Robert, burgess and bailie of Dundee, who purchased various lands in Forfar which were consolidated into the estate of Innerpeffer; he died in 1622. Also included are accounts for plastering, decorating, wrightwork, etc. Folio 1 is a list of 'Rules for measuring mason work in Angus, 1762'. Folio 115 is a printed design for a villa, and folio 116 is a set of designs for lodge gates and railings.

Scope and Contents From the Fonds: Titles, policy papers, leases, rentals, registers of demands, specifications for building works and other papers, largely 1772-1923, of the Sutherland Estates.The papers described here form the second deposit of Sutherland Estates papers for the years 1861-1921, although there is some later material. The main series of estates papers for these years have been deposited as Acc.10225. Included here are the Rentals for the Dunrobin Management previously thought to have been lost....
