A typewritten work, dealing in particular with Lewis Innes, Principal of the Scots College in Paris, and his brother Thomas, the historian, and containing accounts of the Scots College, of Jacobite activities in France, and of the founding of the Roman Catholic Seminary at Scalan, Banffshire. Copies of correspondence from the Stuart Papers at Windsor are included.

Journal describing a two month tour of Scotland by Frederick and Nannie. They begin their journey from Dublin in August 1849. They cross by boat from Derry to Greenock. Places visited include: Luss, Tarbet, Loch Tay, Crieff, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The journal is illustrated with pen sketches by Nannie.

This journal is divided into the journal proper (page 1) and 'General Observations' (page 45) on the characteristics and social conditions of the Germans immediately after the Napoleonic wars; it is illustrated by a water-colour drawing of a coastal scene (folio vii) and three printed plates showing costumes and cries of German street vendors (folios ix-xii).

The Koran is written in Naskhi script, inelegant but clear, with crude illuminations to the first and second Surahs. Chapter-headings, marginal indications of the various sections, and some of the vowel-signs are in red ink.
