Volume containing copies of legal opinions (mostly of Robert Blair of Avontoun as Solicitor General), and of other legal letters and papers (some printed) on various topics.
A letter is tipped in at folio 20, copies of legal papers are tipped in at folios 76 and 114, and printed legal papers are tipped in and pasted in at folios 29 and 32 verso respectively; folios 85-113, 116-120 are blank.
Volume containing eleven printed papers and five manuscript items in the case brought by Alexander Murray of Broughton, 1822-1825, against the 6th Earl of Selkirk and the town council of Kirkcudbright over fishing in the River Dee., ?1822-1825.
The printed papers consist of an engraving of a chart, 1742, and ten legal papers, and the manuscript items are notes and extracts, some from printed sources, concerning lands in the area.

(etc.)’ (Edinburgh, 1828), bearing notes in the margin of pages 1-5 of the Appendix; (iii) note, 1812, in Riddell’s hand anent an obligation by Malcolm, Lord of Biggar, 1368., 1812, 1813, 1828.
