Scope and Contents
This manuscript includes letters, 1817-1828 and uncertain dates, of James Hakewill to John Murray II. They concern his work “A picturesque tour of Italy”.
It also includes letters, 1904-1928, of Elizabeth Haldane and letters, 1902-1916, of her brother Richard, Viscount Haldane, to John Murray IV. All the letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent and by date under each name.
