Scope and Contents Manuscript rental book for Paisley Abbey, written in Scotland, containing statistical information and a series of individual rentals from the period 1460 to 1550, with a later marginal addition of 1555.The record is sporadically kept. Farnhill observes that the earliest extant rentals were drawn up in 1460. The next sets of rentals date from 1472 and 1484. William Rose holds that the manuscript is in the hand of James Justice, a monk of Pluscarden (folio 26 verso). The leaves are partly destroyed. The date ‘millesimo quingentesimo qua[dragesimo] quinto’ occurs on folio 17.
