Scope and Contents The suppressed preface and biographical note would appear from the title page to have been intended to accompany volume 2 of the work. However, this would seem to have been as a result of an error in the setting-up of the title page, which ought to have shown "Vol. I". This suggestion is confirmed by the volume note printed to accompany each signature. This would also conform to the logical position of such matter in a publication, and indeed, the position of the related material...

Scope and Contents The pages here are of poems contained in the first four publications of Lord Byron. They have been heavily annotated by Henry Buxton Forman.Henry Buxton Forman was a well-known bibliographer and, it was later discovered, forger. He and John Murray [III] had agreed that he would work on a new edition of the works of Byron for Murray in the 1884. This never came to fruition, but the proofs here are the result of the start of that work and was sent to John Murray [IV] in 1896....
